Tessera

Services and prices

Prices, in public.

Every service, what it includes, how long it takes and what the smallest version costs. Studios are not supposed to do this. We do it so the first conversation is about the work, not about whether you can afford it.

Every project, four phases

Each phase has a fixed price, paid at its start. You can stop after any phase and keep everything we made in it. The lengths below are for a typical identity.

  1. Listen

Two weeks with your team, your customers and your numbers. We write down what the work has to change before we draw anything.

    2 weeks

  2. Draw

Two or three directions, each one tried on the thing people use most: the app, the shelf, the sign. You choose with evidence, not mood boards.

    3 to 4 weeks

  3. Build

The chosen direction becomes a system: files, code, print specs and guidelines, tested at the sizes and in the places it will live.

    4 to 8 weeks

  4. Look after

We stay for the first months of real use and fix what the real world shows us. Most clients keep a few days a month after that.

    Ongoing

Brand identity

from €18,0008 to 12 weeks

Strategy, a visual system, and the guidelines to keep it consistent after we leave. Designed on the things people use most, not on a logo sheet.

For Companies that make or run something real and have outgrown the logo somebody's cousin drew.

Included

  • Two weeks of interviews with your team and your customers
  • Two or three directions, each tried on the thing people use most
  • The chosen system: marks, type, colour, pattern, image rules
  • Guidelines as a small website your team can search
  • Files for print, screen and signage
  • Three months of looking after it once it is live

Not included

  • Naming from scratch (we review names, we do not invent them)
  • Printing and production costs
  • Photography shoots (we brief and direct them)

Can you keep our existing logo?

Often, yes. If the logo is not the problem we leave it and build the system around it. Moro kept its lettering; Halcyon did not.

Do we own everything?

Yes. The files, the rights to the work and the font licences are in your name once the last phase is paid.

Which CMS do you use?

By default a headless CMS your team edits in the browser, with the site built as fast static pages. If you already have a system that works, we build on it.

Who hosts it?

You do, on an account in your name. We set it up, and can look after it for a monthly fee.

Can you work with our printer?

Yes. We visit them before we design anything, because the press decides more than the file does.

What are the minimum runs?

Printed tins start at around 3,000. Labels and boxes go much lower. We tell you in the first phase what makes sense for your numbers.

Do you make the signs?

No. We design them, help you choose a maker, and come to site during installation.

Do you test in bad weather?

We prefer it. A sign has to work on the worst day, so we test it on one.

Questions we are asked

If yours is not here, ask it on the first call, or write to hello@tessera.example.

Working with us

Do you pitch?

No. We do not make free creative work to win a job. We will show you similar work, introduce the people who would do yours, and write a plan with a fixed price for each phase. If that is not enough to decide, we are probably not the right studio for you.

Will you just design a logo?

No. A logo without the things it goes on is a guess. The smallest job we take is an identity tried on the two or three places it will be used most.

Who will work on our project?

The people on the first call. One designer leads each project from that call to launch, and nobody is swapped in halfway.

Which languages do you work in?

Greek and English, and German with Jonas.

Prices and payment

Is the price on the page the price?

It is the fee for the smallest project of that kind we have done in the last two years. Most land between that and twice it. After the first call you get a fixed price for each phase, in writing.

How do we pay?

Phase by phase, at the start of each one. You can stop after any phase and keep everything we made in it.

Do you work for equity or exposure?

No. We do lower our fees for charities and cultural organisations, and we say by how much in the plan.

How projects run

How many projects do you take at once?

Four, never more. That is why there is sometimes a wait. The next free start date is on the contact page.

Can we work together if we are not in Athens?

Yes, half our clients are not. We ask for two days in person: one at the start, and one when you choose a direction.

What happens after launch?

We stay for the first months of real use and fix what the real world shows us. It is in the price.

A price in writing within a week.

After a 45-minute call we send a plan with a fixed price for each phase. We take 4 projects at a time; the next start is February 2027.
