A patient site and appointment flow for a group of seven clinics, built for people who are not feeling well.
48 smedian time from landing to booked appointment
The brief
Atlas patients booked by phone because the website asked eleven questions before it showed a single free appointment. Receptionists spent their mornings on the phone instead of with the people in the waiting room.
The real problem
Sick people were being asked eleven questions before being shown a single free appointment.
What we did
We turned the flow around: free appointments first, questions after, and only the ones the clinic really needs. The design system is built from rounded tiles in two blues and a mint, tested at 200% zoom and with a screen reader from the first sketch. Every page works on a five-year-old phone on a weak connection.
What we made
On the wall
Rounded tiles replaced square ones after testing: patients read the square ones as buttons that could not be pressed.
Every Friday at four, each project in progress is pinned up at real size. Why we print it

What changed
Most bookings now happen online, the median booking takes 48 seconds, and receptionists have their mornings back.
The phones are quiet at nine o'clock now. That had never happened.
