Saturday mornings at the Kallimarmaro
Eight years of run club: forty people on a good week, a bag of oranges, and nobody left behind.

Run club started in the spring of 2018 with Nikos and four patients who were nervous about running on their own after an injury. We met at the gate of the Kallimarmaro at half past seven and ran round the track on the hill behind it.
Now there are forty people on a good Saturday, and around fifteen in the rain. Some are patients; most are neighbours who heard about it from someone else.
How it works
There are three groups: a walk-run group, an easy group and a steady group. Nobody runs alone, and the last person is never alone either, because Nikos runs at the back. We finish with ten minutes of strength work on the stadium steps and a bag of oranges from the Saturday laiki.
It is free, and you do not need to be a patient. Just turn up.
