Forty open seats, and how to ask for one
One seat in ten is free, with travel money if you need it. No proof, no essay.
Every year one seat in ten goes to someone for whom the price is the reason they would not come. This year that is forty seats, and up to 300 euros each towards travel.
To ask for one, register and choose Open seat. Tell us in two or three lines why, and whether you need help with travel or a bed. That is all. We do not ask for a student card, a payslip or an essay.
Three people read the applications every two weeks and answer everyone. The money comes from the conference budget, nine euros from every paid pass, and from our partners, who fund seats without ever learning who sits in them.
