The room’s story
The house is named for the forest across the valley, and this is the room that looks straight at it. The beeches start two hundred metres from the courtyard wall and go on, unbroken, to the tree line on Tymfi.
In April you can watch the green climb the mountain a little further each morning. In late October it goes copper from the top down. In the snow the trunks stand out grey and silver, and you can see, from bed, the path you will take after breakfast.

The plan
Katerina drew every room before the masons started, and redrew it when the walls turned out not to be where the old survey said. This is the room as it stands.
In the room
- Two windows onto the beech forest
- Day bed for a child or a third adult
- Bath and separate shower
- Armchair by the window
