Journal Studio
The Friday wall
At four on Friday every project goes on the wall, and anyone can move anything.

The long wall on the left of the studio is covered in cork. At four o'clock every Friday, each project in progress goes on it: printed, at real size where we can, next to whatever it is competing with.
The rules are short. Anyone can move anything. Nobody explains their own work until someone else has said what they see. The person who leads a project decides what happens next, and writes it on a sticky note.
Why print it
A screen makes everything look finished. A sheet pinned next to a supermarket tin, a departures board photographed on the quay, or a sleeve beside forty others in a record shop does not. Most of our best decisions have been made standing up, on a Friday, looking at a wall.
Clients are welcome. A few come every week during the Draw phase, and they tend to bring pastries from the corner.
