Your first visit

An hour, most of it talking. Here is everything practical, in the order people usually ask about it.

Drawing of what to bring laid out on a table: a list of medicines, an ID card, glasses, a phone and headphones

What to bring

  • A list of the medicines you take, or the boxes themselves. Blood thinners and bone medicines especially.
  • Your glasses, if you want to read the plan we write.
  • Any X-rays from another dentist in the last two years, on paper, disc or phone.
  • Headphones, if you like your own music. We have spares.
  • For children: their favourite toy, and a grown-up with parental responsibility.

There is a short health form. You can fill it in on paper at the desk, or tell Sofia and she will fill it in with you.

How long it takes

A first visit is an hour. For children it is thirty minutes. Come five minutes early if you can; the lift is slow and the bakery is distracting.

What happens

  1. A conversation. Your teeth, your health, anything that worries you, anything that went badly before.
  2. A look. Every tooth, the gums, the bite and the soft parts of the mouth, with everything named as we go.
  3. X-rays, if needed. Usually two small ones of the back teeth. We tell you why before we take any.
  4. A clean, if there is time and you want one, or at a second visit with Katerina.
  5. A written note. What is fine, what to watch, what needs doing, and what it costs. You take it home.

Paying and receipts

You pay at the end of each visit, by card, cash or IRIS. For plans over €400 you can pay in instalments over up to 24 months, at no extra cost. Every payment gets an itemised receipt with the treatment codes, for your insurer or your tax return. We do not bill insurers directly. All prices and payment plans

Changing a visit

Call or email a day ahead and there is no charge; two days for long appointments. We send a reminder by text the day before, and you can reply to it to move the visit.

Access

The yellow door on Thalassis opens onto a lift with a flat entrance from the pavement, and 22 steps if you prefer. The practice is on one level with wide doors, the chair lowers to wheelchair height, and there is an accessible toilet. Guide dogs are welcome. If you need anything else, tell us when you book.

Languages

Everyone speaks Greek and English. Stavros also speaks German, Anna-Maria French, Yiorgos Italian, and Sofia at the desk Russian. Tell us your language when you book and we will match you if we can.

Parking and buses

Street parking on Thalassis is blue-zone and short. The paid marina car park on the seafront is four minutes' walk along the promenade. The bus stop Thalassis is on the corner, one minute away, served by several city lines. Bicycles can go in the yard behind the bakery. Map and directions
